       <li> <b>1939 - </b>Turing is aksed to join the Government Codes and Ciphers School </li>
       <li> <b>1940 - </b>Turing develops the Bombe to decipher messages using the Enigma machine. </li>
       <li> <b>1945 - </b>Turing is awarded the OBE </li>
       <li> <b>1946 - </b>Turing publishes a paper with the first detailed design of a stored-program computer </li>
       <li> <b>1949 - </b>Turing is made deputy director of the Computer Laboratory at Manchester University </li>
       <li> <b>1950 - </b>Turing publishes 'Computing Machinery and Intelligence' </li>
       <li> <b>1951 - </b>Alan is elected Fellow of the Royal Society, and also gives talks about Artificial Intelligence on the BBC </li>
